in Pennsylvania Records fall as the North Penn boys beat Souderton 125 - 61 The following team and individual records were broken: 200 Medley Relay (Fleming/Szabo/Craig/McPeak 1:38.88), pool and league dual meet record; Jeremy Bergman, 100 Free (48.38), league dual meet record and ties pool record; Dominick Szabo, 100 Breast (59.41), sophomore class record and league dual meet record. Bob Molettiere of Souderton, 50 Free (21.50) and the 100 Back (52.01), both pool records. Although no records were broken, the North Penn girls posted a decisive win, too (115 - 71). carried a story on Dominick Szabo, touching on his stroke, future plans
as well as his ex-North Penn swimmer brothers Ago and Sylvo. The article
has quotes from Coach Bartle, discusses past rivalries between the brothers,
mentions Dominick's high school performance, and his last year's Steve Bohner breaks There were many good times and more swimmers qualified
for districts, among them Ashley McNeil, Chris Craig, Jonathan
Faikish, Justin Fanslau, and Chris Houchins. Steve Fleming, Steve Bohner, Nicole
Seward, and Becky Naudasher It's 160! Dominick Szabo According to program founder and first NP swimming
coach Rick Carroll, Dominick's time of 59.69, is the first sub-minute
in season breaststroke time in North Penn's history. Steve

set pool records. Jeremy Bergman won the 100 free with an impressive personal best performance,
and many others swam a lifetime best during the closest dual meet this season.
Both the boys and girls made several district qualifying times. Steve Bohner North Penn wins both the boys and girls competition at Wilson Relays The North Penn boys broke two records, one of them by more then three seconds, and won ahead of Wilson and Parkland. Girls beat Norristown 147 - 38 Boys and girls win easily over Neshaminy Although swimming not in their strongest events, some swimmers still made district qualifying times. They are: Alissa Moser, (500 Free), Becky Naudasher, (100 Breast); Nicole Seward (200 Free); and Dominick Szabo (100 Free). Check out the score board for both boys and girls.
Chris Craig The December 25 issue of The Reporter featured North Penn's Chris Craig in its Athlete of the Week section. The article points out that his hard and dedicated training habits have helped him to excel. Craig is looking to compete at the state championships in the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle. NP boys and girls sweep Upper Dublin The NP boys and girls easily won over their long time rival 133 - 53 and 127 - 59 respectively. Dominick Szabo, who missed six weeks with a fracture in his lower back, was allowed to return to practice on the 19th of December. He swam the breaststroke leg of the medley relay against Upper Dublin swimming a lifetime best split. Jeremy Bergman swam season's best in the 50 yard freestyle. NP wins over Pennsbury Boys results: 131 - 55; Girls: 112 - 74 Some of the better times: Nicole Seward did a 1:03.44, Katie O'Brien a 1:03.89, and Fleming a 56.81 in the fly; Schillow swam 57.42 in the backstroke; and Craig did a 1:47.62 in the 200 freestyle. Alissa Moser The December 18 edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer introduces North Penn senior girl swimmer Alissa Moser a two time district champion (100 Back and 200 Free). She is the daughter of Bill Moser, a two time district (100 Breast and 200 Medley Relay) and a one-time state champion (400 Free Relay) for North Penn in 1974 and 1975 respectively. Boys get part time assistant Three-time state champion and All-American relay team member Eric Umlauf is now helping boys' head coach William Bartle on a part time basis.
Steve Bohner The December 11 edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer carries a feature article about the best diver in the history of North Penn swimming and diving. The story talks about his past achievements, mistakes, and future goals, and is complete with quotes from his coach Myrl Zawoiski and his team mate and good friend Dan Bishop. Girls assistant coach Don Walsh, former NP pool record holder in the 100 yard backstroke, PIAA silver medalist and All-American with Ago Szabo, Joel Gilbert and Andrew Serang in the 200 medley relay, is now assisting girls head coach Denise Geunes. All-Americans Several members of the 1996-97 North Penn swim team and water polo team were selected All-American by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America. Chris McKelvy, NP boys and girls triumph over William Tennent Boys win 121 - 65, Girls 130 - 56 NP Girls 2nd, Although in the closest title game ever, once again, the Cumberland Valley girls beat North Penn in the finals of the Pennsylvania State Championship. In boys action, Governor Mifflin beat Wilson for the title, and North Penn won over arch rival Wissahickon for a third place finish.
